Service Advisor / Bicycle Technician
JUST RIDE Nerang, Gold Coast QLD
Technicians (Trades & Services)
Full time
$65,000 – $75,000 per year
We're looking for someone who loves bikes and enjoys working with people just as much.
This is more than a mechanic's role. As a Service Advisor, you'll be one of the friendly faces of our workshop, helping customers from the moment they walk through the door while working alongside another Service Advisor to keep one of the Gold Coast's busiest bicycle workshops running smoothly.
You'll be the link between our customers and our mechanics; booking bikes in, providing advice, communicating repair updates, completing minor repairs, solving problems and ensuring every customer leaves with a great experience.
If you're organised, mechanically minded, enjoy helping people and take pride in improving the way things work, we'd love to hear from you.
Immediate start available.

About Us:
At Just Ride Nerang, bikes are what bring us together.
We're a locally owned independent bike shop on the Gold Coast with a team that genuinely enjoys helping people ride more. Whether it's someone's first bike, a dream build or getting a rider back on the trails after a mechanical issue, we pride ourselves on offering honest advice and exceptional service.
Our workshop has built a strong reputation for quality repairs, attention to detail and looking after our customers. As we continue to grow, we're investing in making the workshop an even better place to work and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey.
What We Offer:
- Work with some of the best bikes and brands in the industry
- Flexible employment options including full-time, permanent part-time or casual
- Competitive remuneration based on experience
- Generous staff discounts and team perks
- Full access to the hire bike fleet
- A supportive workplace where your ideas are genuinely valued
- The opportunity to help shape the future of our workshop
About the Role
This Is an opportunity to become a key member of our workshop, not just another employee. We value initiative, welcome new ideas and believe the best workshops are built by the people working in them.
As a service advisor, no two days are the same.
One minute you'll be booking in a bike for a simple puncture repair, the next you'll be discussing suspension servicing on a premium mountain bike, organising parts, providing repair updates to customers or completing a quick mechanical repair yourself.
Working alongside another Service Advisor, you'll help coordinate the day-to-day workflow of the workshop while ensuring every customer receives friendly, honest and professional service.
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and creating an organised, efficient workshop that both customers and staff enjoy being part of.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers and provide exceptional service from start to finish
- Book bikes into the workshop and accurately record repair requirements
- Prepare estimates and explain repair recommendations clearly
- Keep customers informed throughout the repair process
- Carry out minor servicing and mechanical repairs where required
- Support workshop scheduling and daily workflow
- Work closely with our mechanics to ensure repairs are completed efficiently
- Help maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop
- Identify opportunities to improve workshop processes and customer experience
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the business, including setting up and maintaining hire bikes, responding to emails and phone enquiries, general cleaning and workshop organisation, and other duties as required.
This Role Could Be Perfect For Someone Who:
- Enjoys working with people as much as working on bikes
- Has strong mechanical bicycle knowledge but doesn't want to spend every day exclusively on the tools
- Loves solving problems and keeping things organised
- Can confidently communicate with customers and teammates alike
- Takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service
- Wants to have genuine input into improving how a busy workshop operates
What You'll Bring:
- Previous experience as a bicycle mechanic or bicycle technician
- Strong knowledge of road, mountain and electric bikes
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A proactive attitude with the confidence to take ownership
- High attention to detail
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment
- A genuine passion for cycling
Availability on Mondays and Saturdays is essential.
Ready to Join the Team?
While this position is advertised as full-time, we're happy to consider permanent part-time or casual employment for the right person. The most important thing is finding someone who shares our passion for bikes and enjoys delivering an outstanding customer experience.
If this sounds like the opportunity you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
Please apply with your resume and a cover letter explaining why you would be a great fit for the role. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.
